Anticipation mounts as Zimbabwe prepares for the upcoming Zim-Angola Trade Mission, set to occur from May 14th to 16th, 2024, in Luanda, Angola. With a focus on pivotal sectors such as manufacturing, mining, tourism, agriculture, ICT, and finance, the mission promises significant economic gains for both nations.

A spokesperson from the National Trade, Development and Promotion Agency (ZIMTRADE) reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to facilitating trade promotion and market access for Zimbabwean businesses. “The Zim-Angola Trade Mission serves as a strategic platform for fostering closer economic ties between our two countries,” the spokesperson remarked.
In an exclusive interview, economist Tatenda Macheka emphasized the mission’s importance, noting, “It presents a valuable platform for Zimbabwean companies to explore and capitalize on various trade opportunities within Angola’s rapidly growing market and economy.” Macheka highlighted the potential outcomes, envisioning partnerships, collaborations, and increased market access for Zimbabwean enterprises.
“This initiative not only opens doors for trade but also creates avenues for knowledge exchange and capacity building, essential for sustainable economic development,” Macheka added.
Macheka further underscored the broader implications of strengthened trade relations between Zimbabwe and Angola, foreseeing job creation and economic growth. “By tapping into Angola’s market and resources, Zimbabwean companies can diversify their revenue streams and contribute to the overall economic prosperity of both nations,” he explained.
Of particular note, Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector boasts a comparative advantage in technical skills development, drawing interest from Angola in various agricultural areas.
