Paul Pogba’s Dramatic Comeback: Ban Slashed to 18 Months, Eyes 2025 Return

Paul Pogba is set to make a highly anticipated return to football in 2025, following the news that his four-year drug ban has been significantly reduced to just 18 months. According to recent reports, the French midfielder will be allowed to rejoin Juventus for training in January and is expected to feature in official matches by March.

The suspension, initially imposed after Pogba tested positive for a banned substance in August 2023, had been one of the biggest challenges in his career. The test results, which emerged during a routine doping procedure, led to an immediate ban, and the midfielder’s future in the sport seemed uncertain. Despite the initial shock to fans and players, Pogba continuously maintained that the positive test was a mistake, emphasizing that it was not intentional. His team pursued every available legal option to challenge the decision, and now, after a lengthy appeal process, the ban has been cut from four years to a much shorter period.

The reduction of the ban comes as a relief to both Pogba and Juventus, who have struggled in the absence of their star midfielder. Juventus, who brought Pogba back to Turin for a second stint in 2022, had been missing his creativity and presence in midfield due to injuries even before the suspension. This latest development provides the club with the opportunity to integrate Pogba back into their squad, as the 31-year-old will be able to train with the team starting in January 2025, giving him time to regain his fitness and match sharpness before returning to competitive action in March.

Pogba’s legal team successfully argued that the circumstances surrounding the doping violation were not intentional, resulting in the reduction of the sentence. The appeal process examined the details of the case, and with new evidence and further testing, it was deemed that the initial four-year sanction was overly harsh. This decision allows Pogba to return to football much sooner than anticipated and marks the beginning of a new chapter for the player, who has faced a series of challenges throughout his career.

Throughout this period, Pogba has remained vocal about his desire to clear his name and return to the pitch. He has received unwavering support from his teammates and fans, who have stood by him despite the ban. His upcoming return presents an opportunity for Juventus to strengthen their midfield, a position where they have struggled in his absence. Under the guidance of manager Massimiliano Allegri, Juventus will be eager to see Pogba back in action, hoping that his return can help the team push for success both domestically and in Europe.

For Pogba, this return will offer a chance to revive his career and re-establish himself as one of the most talented midfielders in world football. His journey has been filled with both triumph and adversity, from his record-breaking transfer to Manchester United in 2016 to his injury-plagued years since returning to Juventus. While his career has been inconsistent, there is no doubting Pogba’s abilities when fully fit and focused.

As the football world prepares for his return in 2025, all eyes will be on Pogba to see if he can rediscover the form that once made him one of the most sought-after players in the game. His comeback will be closely watched, as fans and pundits alike will be eager to see how he performs after such a lengthy layoff. This period marks more than just the end of his suspension—it represents a pivotal moment in Pogba’s career, one where he will have the chance to prove that he still has much to offer at the highest level.

Pogba’s story is far from over, and with the possibility of seeing him back on the pitch as early as March 2025, there is a renewed sense of optimism surrounding the Frenchman. His return could be a game-changer for Juventus, and if Pogba can regain his best form, it could also mark the beginning of a new and successful chapter in his storied career.
