Meet Dr Chaii: A Grammy Nominated Star Spreading Joy Through Music

Dr. Chaii, whose real name is Philip Kembo, is a talented music producer and artist on the rise. Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, to Freeman and Naomie Kembo, Dr. Chaii grew up with a passion for music that eventually led him to pursue his dreams in the music industry. With his unique blend of afrobeats, pop, and dancehall, Dr. Chaii has been making waves in the music world, spreading his message of joy, love, and acceptance through his music.

Early Years and Education

Dr. Chaii’s journey in music began during his formative years. He attended Hartman House Primary School, where he served as deputy headboy, and later went on to complete his secondary education at St. Georges College, where he was Headboy.

It was during this time that he discovered his love for music and became an active member of the choir. He also excelled in athletics and soccer, showcasing his talent and passion for performance.

After completing his secondary education, Dr. Chaii pursued higher education at Lancaster University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing & Advertising. He furthered his studies at Lancaster and achieved a First Class Degree in Advanced Marketing Management, earning a Master’s degree. His education provided him with a solid foundation in marketing and business, which would later complement his music career.

Rise as a Music Producer

After graduating, Dr. Chaii followed his dreams and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music production. His talent and hard work quickly gained recognition, and he began working with renowned artists in the music industry. Some of his notable productions include “No Lie” by Sean Paul featuring Dua Lipa, “Questions” by Chris Brown, “Hey Ma” by J Balvin, Camila Cabello, and Pitbull, “Tip Toe” by Jason Derulo, “One Light” by Maroon 5, “Famila” by Nicki Minaj, Anual AA & Bantu, “Hot Sauce” by NCT Dream, and “Next To You” by Becky G and Digital Farm Animals, among others. Dr. Chaii’s production style is characterized by his ability to fuse different musical genres, creating a unique and infectious sound that captivates audiences worldwide.

Transition to an Artist

In 2019, Dr. Chaii decided to embark on a new chapter in his music career and pursue a career as an artist. He released his first single as an artist, “Jackie Chan,” with Bantu, which was featured on the FIFA 19 soundtrack, gaining him widespread recognition.

His subsequent releases, including “Dirty” featuring Kida Kudz & Big Tobz, which reached #14 on the Official UK Afrobeats charts, and “If You Love Me,” which topped the Star FM Zimbabwe charts for two consecutive weeks, further solidified his status as a rising artist.

Dr. Chaii’s music is known for its catchy melodies, infectious beats, and uplifting lyrics that promote joy, love, and acceptance. He believes in using his music as a tool to spread positivity and inspire others, and his unique blend of afrobeat, pop, and dancehall has garnered him a growing fan base around the world.

Upcoming “Minister of Enjoyment” EP

Currently, Dr. Chaii is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated “Minister of Enjoyment” EP, which is set to be released in May 2023. The EP is expected to showcase his musical versatility and further establish his position as an artist to watch in the music industry. Dr. Chaii’s passion.
