Tango Supreme Announce Global Tour After Breakout Success

South African Amapiano duo Tango Supreme are taking their music to the world after announcing their Out of This World Tour, a global run of performances that follows a meteoric rise fuelled by viral hits, sold-out shows and growing international recognition.

Made up of Tiisetso Moncho and Nomfundo Khumalo, the all-female DJ and producer duo have emerged as one of the country’s fastest-rising dance acts. Managed by Dimpho Rapudi under Top Tier Entertainment, the pair have built a reputation for energetic performances and infectious productions, earning them the tagline “It Takes Two to Tango.”

The announcement comes after a string of successful releases that have established Tango Supreme as one of the standout names in the Amapiano scene. Tracks including Makhekhe, Mopepe, featuring vocalist Benzo, and Mzala, alongside Shakes & Les and Zee Nxumalo, have dominated dance floors, radio playlists and social media platforms, helping the duo cultivate a rapidly growing fan base.

Among their biggest achievements is Mopepe, which became the first song by a South African female DJ duo to surpass one million weekly views on South African YouTube under Top Tier Entertainment. Their momentum has also translated to streaming platforms, where Tango Supreme now boast more than 1.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify, reflecting the growing global appetite for their music.

While firmly rooted in Amapiano, the duo have distinguished themselves by seamlessly incorporating Afro-house and deep house influences into both their productions and live performances. Their willingness to experiment has enabled them to appeal to audiences beyond traditional genre boundaries while maintaining the unmistakable sound that has made South African dance music a global phenomenon.

Their debut EP, 2 The Moon, further demonstrated their versatility as both producers and performers, showcasing a catalogue that balances club-ready anthems with melodic, emotionally driven productions. Along the way, Tango Supreme have collaborated with some of the industry’s most recognisable names, including Shaun 101, Kota Embassy, Tman Xpress, Shakes & Les and Zee Nxumalo.

The duo’s international ambitions will now take centre stage through the Out of This World Tour, which includes performances across four continents. The tour will see Tango Supreme perform in Dallas, Washington DC and Miami in the United States before heading to Birmingham, London and Manchester in the United Kingdom. Additional dates include performances in Doha, Amsterdam, Paris, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Uganda, marking one of the most extensive international tours undertaken by a rising South African Amapiano act.

The tour reflects the continued global expansion of Amapiano, a genre that has evolved from township dance floors into one of Africa’s biggest cultural exports. As international audiences continue embracing South African sounds, artists such as Tango Supreme are increasingly finding opportunities to headline shows around the world while introducing new listeners to the genre.

Top Tier Entertainment CEO Dimpho Rapudi believes the duo’s success has been built on more than just hit records, pointing to the importance of developing a long-term strategy around their careers.

“They came, they saw, and they didn’t come to play. We saw two girls with undeniable talent and a disruptive sound. Our job was to build the infrastructure around it, distribution, partnerships and tour strategy. Now all eyes are on Tango Supreme because we made sure the world had no choice but to look.”

Despite their rapid rise, Tango Supreme show no signs of slowing down. The duo have confirmed that a brand-new single is already in development, ensuring fans will have fresh music to accompany the next chapter of their international journey.

With streaming numbers continuing to climb, a growing catalogue of chart-performing singles and an ambitious global tour on the horizon, Tango Supreme are proving that South African female DJs are not only shaping the future of Amapiano at home but are also taking the genre to audiences around the world.
