Liz Aderinola Joins The Southern African Times as Fashion Editor

The Southern African Times is proud to welcome Liz Aderinola as our new Fashion Editor. With over 15 years of experience in the fashion industry and a strong foundation in garment technology, Liz embodies a unique blend of technical expertise, creative vision, and cultural insight that will enrich our coverage of global and African fashion narratives.

Raised in London by Nigerian parents, Liz’s multicultural upbringing has significantly influenced her perspective on fashion and culture. Her academic journey began with a degree in Sociology, which provided her with a deep understanding of the social, cultural, and environmental impacts of fashion. This educational foundation enables Liz to approach the industry not only with technical precision but also with a broad appreciation of its profound influence on society.

Liz’s professional path includes training at the renowned London College of Fashion, where she developed her technical expertise in garment technology. Her career has been marked by collaborations with esteemed brands and manufacturers, ensuring their garments meet the highest standards of quality and fit. Her work extends beyond design to tackling complex challenges in the supply chain, such as ethical sourcing, delays, returns, and responsible labour practices. Through strategic innovation, Liz has championed transparency and sustainability across global supply networks.

Her global collaborations with suppliers, designers, and manufacturers have deepened her understanding of fashion’s multifaceted nature, inspiring her to explore how the industry can address critical issues like sustainability, climate change, and fair labour practices.

Liz is also deeply passionate about the storytelling power of fashion, celebrating the rich creativity and craftsmanship emerging from Africa, the Caribbean, and the global diaspora. Her dedication to elevating these narratives aligns perfectly with The Southern African Times’ mission to spotlight diverse voices and talents shaping the fashion world.

Beyond her technical and creative contributions, Liz is a committed mentor, devoted to equipping the next generation of fashion professionals with the skills and values needed to foster a more inclusive, ethical, and sustainable industry. Her work as an educator and role model ensures that her impact will resonate far beyond her own career, helping to build a better future for fashion.

At The Southern African Times, Liz will spearhead our fashion coverage, delivering compelling stories that highlight the intersection of culture, innovation, and sustainability. Her expertise, passion, and vision will undoubtedly inspire our readers and redefine how we explore the ever-evolving fashion landscape.

We are thrilled to have Liz Aderinola join our team and look forward to the vibrant contributions she will bring as our Fashion Editor. Welcome, Liz!
