Chinese Special Envoy Attends Zimbabwean President’s Inauguration Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Chinese President Xi Jinping’s special envoy, Zhou Qiang, attended the inauguration ceremony of Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa in the capital city of Harare. The meeting between the two leaders underscored the enduring friendship between China and Zimbabwe and their commitment to enhancing cooperation in various sectors.

During their meeting at the State House, Zhou Qiang conveyed President Xi’s warm congratulations and best wishes to President Mnangagwa. He emphasized China’s steadfast commitment to viewing and nurturing its relations with Zimbabwe from a strategic and long-term perspective. This commitment reflects China’s dedication to maintaining and developing a high level of mutual trust between the two nations.

Zhou Qiang further highlighted the importance of both countries firmly supporting each other on issues related to their core interests. This mutual support is crucial in promoting the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership that exists between China and Zimbabwe.

In response, President Mnangagwa expressed his deep appreciation for President Xi’s decision to send a special envoy to attend his inauguration ceremony. President Mnangagwa emphasized Zimbabwe’s eagerness to strengthen cooperation with China in key areas such as infrastructure development, agriculture, mining, and education. These collaborations are expected to elevate bilateral relations to new heights, fostering mutual growth and prosperity.

The presence of China’s special envoy at President Mnangagwa’s inauguration serves as a testament to the enduring bond between the two nations and their shared commitment to advancing their strategic partnership.
