Zimbabwe’s Vice President Chiwenga Attends 19th CII-India Africa Business Conclave in New Delhi

Zimbabwe’s Vice President, Constantino Chiwenga, is currently in New Delhi to participate in the 19th CII-India Africa Business Conclave, a significant platform designed to enhance economic collaboration between India and African nations. The event, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), seeks to promote business partnerships and explore investment opportunities across various sectors, with a focus on strengthening bilateral relations.

Chiwenga’s visit is part of a broader initiative to fortify the economic ties between Zimbabwe and India, particularly in key sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and mining. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs announced on Monday that both nations are using this opportunity to advance mutual interests and deepen their bilateral economic relationship.

During his time in New Delhi, Vice President Chiwenga is expected to engage in high-level discussions with Indian officials and business leaders on the sidelines of the conclave. These meetings aim to explore potential investment opportunities and to further bolster trade relations between the two countries.

The CII-India Africa Business Conclave brings together business leaders, policymakers, and industry experts from across Africa and India, facilitating in-depth discussions on the key issues and opportunities within the African market. This year’s conclave is anticipated to be a crucial event for fostering new business connections and driving forward economic development between the two regions.

India, the fifth largest economy in the world with a gross domestic product of US$3.7 trillion, continues to play a pivotal role in global trade. The country’s engagement with African nations through forums such as the CII-India Africa Business Conclave underscores its commitment to expanding economic ties and promoting sustainable development across the continent.

As Zimbabwe seeks to attract more investment and diversify its economic partnerships, Chiwenga’s participation in the conclave is viewed as a significant step towards achieving these goals.
