In a development that underscores the growing interconnectivity of global markets, the U.S.-Africa Trade Commission (USAfriTrade) has entered into a formalised partnership with the Egyptian African Businessmen’s Association (EABA). The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed on 18th August 2024, marks a pivotal moment in fostering economic collaboration and expanding market access across the United States, Egypt, and the broader African continent.
This partnership emerges as a testament to the strategic foresight of both organisations, with USAfriTrade, under the stewardship of its CEO, Titus Olowokere, and EABA, chaired by the esteemed Dr. Yousrey Elsharkawi, leading the charge towards enhanced economic cooperation. The MoU is anticipated to play a crucial role in advancing shared objectives, particularly in driving economic development, innovation, and sustainable growth across these diverse regions.
The Egyptian African Businessmen’s Association, a formidable entity with longstanding influence across Africa, has been instrumental in cultivating business opportunities and strengthening economic ties. The Association’s robust presence and its substantial contributions to economic discourse in Egypt and the wider African region render it an invaluable partner in this trilateral endeavour.
The MoU was signed in a virtual meeting attended by key figures from both organisations. Mr. Olowokere was joined by Dr. Davison Gomo, Chairman of USAfriTrade, and Mr. Emilio DeJesus, a Member of the Board of Governors, in discussions with Dr. Elsharkawi. The meeting provided a platform to articulate the strategic initiatives that will underpin this partnership, laying the groundwork for future endeavours aimed at invigorating the business landscape across these interconnected regions.
As both entities embark on this collaborative journey, the MoU signals a deepened commitment to fostering mutually beneficial economic relationships. This partnership is poised to catalyse new opportunities, driving forward the aspirations of businesses and entrepreneurs across the United States, Egypt, and Africa. It reflects a shared vision of economic progress, rooted in cooperation and the mutual exchange of knowledge and resources.
