Tanzanian authorities have taken decisive action in response to the continuing Palestinian-Israeli conflict, as they announced plans on Saturday to evacuate their citizens residing in Israel. The move comes as a result of the concerning situation, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation. Although the exact number of Tanzanian citizens currently living in Israel was not disclosed, the government is actively facilitating their return home.
The statement urges Tanzanian nationals who wish to be repatriated to register with the Tanzanian embassy in Tel Aviv. This can be done either by emailing their information to telaviv@nje.go.tz or by calling the provided contact numbers: +972 533 044 978 and +972 507 650 072. The deadline for registration is set for midnight on Sunday.
Expressing profound sadness for the loss of innocent lives in the ongoing conflict, the Tanzanian government has called upon both Israel and Palestine to seek a lasting and peaceful resolution through dialogue. The statement emphasizes Tanzania’s strong condemnation of all forms of violence, underlining that violence is not a successful means to settle disputes. This move reflects the Tanzanian government’s commitment to the safety and well-being of its citizens in the face of the ongoing crisis.
