CAPE TOWN (The Southern African Times) – Signapps, a South African technology company has just won a prestigious contract with the National Health Services. Signapps provide the right software as a service communication platform managing clinical communication to NHS Trusts.
The CEO of Signapps Andrew Davies gave some comments on the developments, “The contract with the NHS is a major coup for us, as a South African company, proving that our product engineering teams can create a product to compete with the very best internationally.”
According to further statements shared on Ventureburn, Davies revealed that most of the development will happen locally. Healthcent was founded in 2017 and has come up with a mobile messaging system funded with angel investment since then. Initial funding for developing the Signapps platform was secured from Gauteng Innovation Hub and DTI while Healthcent is backed by Umkhathi Wethu Ventures and Allan Gray.
Mobile, cloud, and collaborative platforms are being used by 30 customers drawn from public and private hospital groups, associations, and practices. The platform boasts over 2000 registered users.
South Africa has been experiencing challenges related to COVID-19 affecting local health facilities. Signapps offer real-time, malleable, and collaborative data collection patient coordination on their mobile phones.
Messaging among members of the healthcare team involves a large number of experts in patient-care without being directly on site. This is critical for the South African healthcare space when patient data is collected and shared. Reducing interaction between professionals and patients helps reduce their exposure risk.
