Menthum Partners with CI Capital Asset Management to Launch Pioneering USD Fixed Income Fund

The innovative digital savings startup Menthum has announced a strategic partnership with CI Capital Asset Management to launch a pioneering mutual fund. The “Menthum USD Fixed Income Fund” represents a significant leap in the country’s investment landscape, promising secure, high-yield opportunities in US dollars.

Founded in November 2022 by seasoned professionals Himanshu Shrimali and Ismail Sarhank, Menthum has quickly distinguished itself with its cutting-edge B2B and B2C digital savings platform. The startup provides a novel approach to investing in treasury bills (T-bills) through a money market fund, catering to both individual and corporate clients.

Following a successful pre-seed funding round in July 2023, the startup’s latest initiative in collaboration with CI Capital Asset Management marks a new chapter in its ambitious journey. The Menthum USD Fixed Income Fund is designed to offer a blend of stability and liquidity by investing in low-risk, high-quality fixed income securities. This includes US dollar-denominated T-Bills and Eurobonds issued by the Egyptian government, thereby appealing to investors seeking a robust and stable return.

As a fully regulated product under the auspices of the Financial Regulatory Authority of Egypt (FRA), the fund reflects Menthum’s commitment to delivering secure and intelligent financial solutions. It is poised to enhance the financial wellbeing of Egyptians by providing a secure vehicle for wealth preservation and growth in foreign currency.

Himanshu Shrimali, co-founder and CEO of Menthum, articulated the significance of this development, stating, “At Menthum, our mission is to create innovative financial solutions that cater to the evolving needs of people in Egypt. The launch of the Menthum USD Savings Account, powered by the Menthum USD Fixed Income Fund, represents a significant milestone in our quest to empower Egyptians by providing financial products that make their money work harder, thereby improving their financial well-being. We take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the FRA for their pragmatic regulations and supportive approach that are conducive to innovation and progressive governance.”

This launch is poised to invigorate the financial market in Egypt, offering a sophisticated investment tool that aligns with international standards. By bridging the gap between digital innovation and traditional financial products, Menthum and CI Capital Asset Management are setting a new benchmark in the realm of secure and lucrative investment opportunities.

As Egypt continues to navigate its economic landscape, the introduction of the Menthum USD Fixed Income Fund underscores a promising horizon for both individual and institutional investors seeking stability and growth in a volatile global market.
