Mastercard and Women Choice Empower Women Entrepreneurs in Africa and the Middle East

Mastercard and Women Choice have strengthened their collaboration to empower women entrepreneurs across Africa and the Middle East with the launch of two new initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth and gender equality in the region.

The partnership between Women Choice, an international organization dedicated to advancing women’s personal and professional development, and Mastercard, a global financial services powerhouse, has evolved to introduce two groundbreaking programs – ImpactHer and EmpowerHer.

ImpactHer and EmpowerHer are designed to provide comprehensive support to women entrepreneurs, offering them access to training, mentorship, and networking opportunities. These programs not only aim to assist women in expanding their businesses but also to facilitate the creation of job opportunities for other women within their respective industries.

“Mastercard is deeply committed to fostering inclusivity and equity worldwide, where everyone has the chance to thrive. Our expanded collaboration with Women Choice will make a significant impact on women’s participation in the workforce across Africa and the Middle East,” stated Amnah Ajmal, Executive Vice President for Market Development for EEMEA at Mastercard.

Amnah Ajmal emphasized that these initiatives are crucial for empowering women entrepreneurs with the necessary skills, resources, and tools to succeed, thereby driving economic growth in the region.

Nezha Alaoui, the founder and CEO of Women Choice, expressed pride in the successful outcomes of the 2023 pilot program launched in conjunction with Mastercard. Alaoui underscored the importance of scaling the impact of these initiatives, highlighting their potential to effect positive change in the workplace and support women-led businesses.

Alaoui added, “Bringing about transformative change and enhancing the status of women in the workplace, while providing vital support to women-led enterprises, is essential for fostering economic prosperity in the Middle East and Africa.”

The ImpactHer and EmpowerHer programs signify a significant step forward in addressing the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in accessing resources and support networks necessary for business growth. By facilitating access to training and mentorship, these initiatives aim to bridge the gender gap in entrepreneurship and promote sustainable economic development.

The collaboration between Mastercard and Women Choice underscores the importance of strategic partnerships in driving positive social change and economic empowerment. By leveraging their respective expertise and resources, these organizations are poised to make a tangible difference in the lives of women entrepreneurs across Africa and the Middle East.

As global leaders in their respective fields, Mastercard and Women Choice are setting a precedent for corporate responsibility and gender equality. Through initiatives like ImpactHer and EmpowerHer, they are not only investing in women’s empowerment but also laying the groundwork for a more inclusive and prosperous future for all.

The expanded partnership between Mastercard and Women Choice heralds a new era of empowerment and opportunity for women entrepreneurs in Africa and the Middle East. By investing in their success, these initiatives have the potential to drive significant economic growth and social progress in the region.
