Health and Social Care Network Session Explores Future of Care in Birmingham

The Health and Social Care Providers Network (HSCPN) will host its fourteenth session on Saturday, 29 November 2025, at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in Birmingham (B1 2HQ). The full-day programme, held under the theme “Transforming Care, Enhancing Lives”, will run from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, following registration from 9:00 AM, and will be followed by a Christmas Gala Dinner beginning at 7:00 PM until late.

The conference will bring together policymakers, practitioners, and thought leaders for keynote addresses, panel discussions, and interactive workshops. Participants will gain insights into emerging policy developments, innovative practices, and collaborative approaches to strengthening health and social care delivery. Admission for the event is £120, with an early bird rate of £100 available until the end of September 2025.

Key takeaways from the event are expected to include practical guidance on policy updates, best practices in care delivery, and strategies to strengthen collaboration across sectors. Such exchanges are designed to equip participants with enhanced knowledge and skills that can be applied to improve service outcomes.

The importance of events of this nature extends beyond the UK. In Southern Africa and across the continent, health and social care systems face their own distinctive pressures, ranging from demographic changes to resource constraints. According to the World Health Organization, integrated and people-centred care has been emphasised as a global priority, highlighting the relevance of shared learning across borders.

In many African countries, the dual burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases requires innovative approaches to community-based and institutional care. Engagements such as the Birmingham session offer a platform for fostering dialogue that acknowledges these diverse contexts while building on shared aspirations to improve care quality and access.

While the event is UK-based, its focus on collaboration and positive change resonates with broader pan-African perspectives on social and health development. The emphasis on policy updates, best practices, and sector-wide partnerships provides a framework that aligns with continental goals such as the African Union’s Agenda 2063, which identifies health and well-being as integral to sustainable development.
