Courtney Jongwe Crowned Miss World Zimbabwe 2024

November brought an air of excitement to Harare as the highly anticipated Miss World Zimbabwe 2024 pageant culminated in a dazzling grand finale on Saturday night. The prestigious event saw Courtney Jongwe emerge as the winner, securing her place as Zimbabwe’s representative at the Miss World 2025 competition.

The glittering ceremony took place at the esteemed Siyekhaya Estate, a fitting venue for an evening dedicated to elegance, culture, and celebration. Hosted by the charismatic Kim Jayde, the event brought together Zimbabwe’s elite and beauty enthusiasts from across the nation. Guests were resplendently dressed, embodying the evening’s theme, Beauty with a Purpose, which underscored a message of sophistication, resilience, and cultural pride.

Courtney Jongwe stood out among the 12 talented finalists, triumphing over notable contestants such as Miss Zimbabwe 2022, Charlotte Muziri, and Amanda Mpofu, the Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2023 runner-up. Her victory was a testament to her poise, intellect, and dedication to the pageant’s ideals. Jongwe’s win not only adds to her growing accolades but also positions her to shine on the global stage at the Miss World 2025 competition.

A seasoned competitor in international beauty pageants, Jongwe previously represented Zimbabwe at the 2023 Miss Earth contest. Her new title as Miss World Zimbabwe 2024 is a testament to her unwavering commitment to showcasing the beauty and spirit of her homeland.

The pageant was about more than beauty—it served as a platform for advocating meaningful causes. Contestants passionately addressed issues such as mental health awareness, climate change, and the welfare of children in health and education. This alignment with the Beauty with a Purpose ethos highlighted the pageant’s broader mission to inspire positive societal change.

Patience Lusengo, the Director of Miss World Zimbabwe, expressed heartfelt gratitude to sponsors and partners for their invaluable support. “This event goes beyond beauty; it’s a celebration of the values, aspirations, and potential of our nation. We invite more partners to join us for next year’s edition, which promises to be even grander,” she remarked.

The evening also featured congratulatory remarks from esteemed businesswoman Zodwa Mkhandla, representing Colonel Miniyothabo Chiwenga. Mkhandla emphasised the transformative impact of beauty pageants, stating, “Pageants like Miss World Zimbabwe elevate our country’s talent, diversity, and resilience. They provide a unique platform to share Zimbabwe’s story with the world.”

As the curtains fell on the 2024 edition of Miss World Zimbabwe, it left a lasting impression as an event that celebrated not only physical beauty but also the nation’s cultural richness and progressive ideals. Courtney Jongwe’s crowning moment signifies a new chapter in Zimbabwe’s representation on the global stage, carrying with it the hopes and aspirations of a proud nation.

Jongwe now prepares to embark on her journey to the Miss World 2025 competition, where she will undoubtedly showcase the grace, talent, and resilience that define Zimbabwean beauty.
