Valee Music Speaks on working with Dj Tira and Hints on New EP and philanthropic work

Award winning artiste Valerie Menyiwe Sibanda, otherwise known as Valee Music, has teamed up with yet another powerhouse in music for her latest musical release “Ng’Cabanga Ngawe” which features South African musical guru DJ Tira produced by Prince Bulo.

The two powerhouse musicians collaborated on new tracks to deliver captivating melodic sonics well meshed in order to create an incredible  record.

In a conversation with The Southern African Times, Valee said the journey to making the song was by mere chance. Valee was in South Africa for a music video and ended up linking up with DJ Tira in Durban and the track “Ng’Cabanga Ngawe” magic was made.

The two had previously met when DJ Tira was in the UK, the two worked together on a few projects and Ng’cabanga ended up being the best amongst the many tracks done during the studio session. Valee’s collaboration with DJ Tira comes shortly after her release of “Mali” an Amapiano song whose video was shot in Soweto in the busy Gauteng province of South Africa. One wouldn’t be wrong to sense a pattern of Valee’s strong African affiliation even though she is based in the UK.

Valee also mentioned her upcoming much awaited EP. She is excited to be releasing her long-awaited 5 Track EP since her entrance into the music industry. An anticipated body of work which she promises her fans will enjoy.

“Leading towards the EP, you are going to be so shocked, there’s quite a diverse type of sounds in there. For me, one thing I’ve truly appreciated is how people have welcomed me and enjoyed my music,” she said.

During the conversation, Valee revealed that she is also an innovative entrepreneur, working mostly on philanthropic ventures.

She is currently working on a Lifestyle Brand, whilst continuing her efforts into charity work through her “My African Dream” (M.A.D) foundation. MAD seeks to help disadvantaged children. She previously raised 30,000 ZAR for  the Mpumathe community  in South Africa that she prosuly  partnered with in order to support social welfare programs. In addition,  she intends  to expand this to other regions especially in Zimbabwe where  she was born, with the aim of helping to alleviate “period poverty”.

Conversely, Valee is currently running a Tik Tok Challenge giving away USD100 to budding musicians who remix her song with DJ Tiraon the video sharing app. The competition ends on the 24th of March 2023.

As Valee continues to expand her musical heights  into her new markets her fans should expect her to be a much bolder woman, who is in control and is owning who she is.

As we wrapped up our conversation, she said: “I am a woman of faith and believe there is time for everything and God has a way of making everything work in the correct way at the right time. I feel it is now a good time to tap into that music space and feed that little girl who has always wanted to be a singer”
