The U.K. Assassin headlines “Clash in the Burg”

The U.K. Assassin headlines “Clash in the Burg”

Top heavyweight contender Christopher Lovejoy (20-1-1), will next Thursday headline a new boxing series dubbed “Clash In The Burg” when he takes on Brazilian Marcelo Leandro DaSilva (22-5).

The show, scheduled for Thursday, July 6, is jointly promoted by Travel Champs in association with Lion Heart Boxing Promotions.

It takes place at the Forum Auditorium in Harrisburg, PA, (USA) a venue that seats 1 600 spectators on capacity.

The co-main bout features Mexican heavyweight Martin “Latin Sensation” Paredes (6-0) who takes on LSU national champion Jarvis Jones (2-0) in a one “O” must-go fixture.

But riding on a latest S/D draw against Ayman Farouk Abbas in Cairo, Egypt some three months ago, Lovejoy is Thursday expected to transform his ‘trash talk’ and vocal fan base into yet another positive outcome as he aims to maintain or even surpass his KO rate of 90.91%.

The self-proclaimed “Loudest Mouth in the West,” he remains a social media darling and equally, one of the hottest names in boxing who has been a constant thorn in the flesh of especially British heavyweights.

According to an availed itinerary, he is before year-end expected to engage in high profile fights which include a date with British prospect Johnny Fisher (7-0) and a potential showdown with former heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder.

Lovejoy is classified as controversial and tows a “gangbanger” record according to his self-confession. He remains one of a few boxers ever to walk away successfully from a Don King promotional contract, and without being sued.

Edward Mendy, the CFO of Lion Heart said of the rest of the card:

“Joining Christopher Lovejoy as the co-main is the 6’6″ Mexican Heavyweight Martin “Latin Sensation“ Paredes (6-0), who will be stepping up against another undefeated prospect.

“It will be a heavyweight “Clash In Burg” for the ages when Paredes faces former football player and LSU National Champion Jarvis Jones (2-0). “Someone’s “O” must go.

“Rounding out the fight card are numerous local boxing favourites, including Angel Perez (7-0) of the famous Perez Brothers, his brother Montana Perez (2-0) as well as the giant Nate Bueno (Debut). With his debut, Bueno will automatically become the tallest active fighter, at 6’10.”

Also carrying business interests in Africa, particularly in Zimbabwe, Lion Heart Boxing Promotions adds “Clash in the Burg” to a number of other prominent and popular boxing series it has originated, among them “Dubai War on the Shore,” Thursday Night Fights and AfriFite”, among others.
