On Thursday, Zimbabwean internet service provider Dandemutande announced a new partnership with Chinese telecommunications giant China Telecom. This collaboration aims to enhance internet connectivity for Chinese businesses operating in Zimbabwe by providing faster and more reliable bandwidth between Zimbabwe and China.
Never Ncube, CEO of Dandemutande, explained that the partnership includes a dedicated line specifically for Chinese enterprises, which is expected to significantly reduce latency. This improvement is anticipated to boost productivity and facilitate better access to services hosted in Chinese data centres and cloud environments.
Dandemutande, which offers a range of ICT solutions including internet connectivity, data centre services, and cloud solutions, is optimistic about expanding its service offerings through this new alliance. Ncube expressed enthusiasm about leveraging the partnership to enhance their service portfolio.
Zhang Guangzhu, Managing Director of China Telecom South Africa, highlighted the company’s commitment to improving connectivity across Africa. He emphasised that China Telecom’s global low latency transmission solutions will meet the expectations of their partner customers. Zhang also noted that China Telecom, a significant player in cloud service provision, looks forward to collaborating with Dandemutande to deliver advanced cloud services.
The partnership underscores a growing trend of international cooperation aimed at improving digital infrastructure and connectivity for businesses operating in emerging markets.
