Yvonne Makolo Makes History as IATA’s First Female Chair of the Board

Yvonne Makolo has been appointed as the 81st Chair of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Board of Governors. Makolo’s appointment not only marks a personal achievement but also stands as a testament to the progressive shift towards gender equality in the traditionally male-dominated sector. As the first woman to hold this esteemed position, Makolo’s ascendancy brings a fresh perspective and dynamic leadership to the IATA, reinforcing its commitment to inclusivity and diversity.

Yvonne is also  the current CEO of RwandAir, the national carrier of Rwanda, where she has contributed significantly to its growth and expansion. Makolo’s visionary leadership and strategic acumen have garnered widespread recognition, earning her a reputation as a dynamic and influential figure in the aviation community.
