Paris Hilton visits Zimbabwe as the government reopens tourism industry

VICTORIA FALLS, (The Southern African Times) – The eagerness to unbind the lack of international travel during the height of the pandemic has prompted visits from all over world towards Zimbabwe. The country was one of the first country’s in Africa to reopen its boarders after have handled the pandemic well according to Africa’s CDC report.

The touring visitor so far has been Paris Hilton who is is an American media personality, socialite, businesswoman, model, singer, actress, and DJ. She is a great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, the founder of Hilton Hotels. Born in New York City, and raised there and in Beverly Hills, California, Hilton first attracted tabloid attention in the late 1990s, when she became a fixture in NYC’s late-night scene. She ventured into modeling at age 19, signing with Donald Trump‘s agency Trump Model Management. After David LaChapelle photographed her and her sister Nicky, for the September 2000 issue of Vanity Fair, Hilton was proclaimed “New York’s leading It Girl” in 2001.

The visit is a definite boost to the land locked country’s economy. The pandemic affected the country’s trade and tourism sector, which usually relies on foreign tourists and business meetings for revenue generation.

This visit occurs after the countries Minister of Tourism had announced that the tourism sector is expected to contract by 7.4 percent in 2021 due to the economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Victoria Falls town is home to the magnificent Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe’s top tourist destination and one of the world’s most famous natural wonders.
