Data Centre Expert Jonathan Duncan Joins Vertiv Africa Engineering and Technical Team

Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a leading global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, has announced the appointment of Jonathan Duncan as the new Application Engineering and Technical Solutions Director for Africa. Duncan’s extensive experience in the critical power and cooling industry, particularly in the data centre segment, makes him a valuable addition to Vertiv’s management team in Africa.

Reporting directly to Wojtek Piorko, Vertiv’s Managing Director for Africa, Duncan brings over 25 years of industry knowledge and expertise to his new role. Piorko expressed his confidence in Duncan’s leadership and sales skills, highlighting his experience in team management, operations, and multi-territory responsibilities. Duncan has also worked extensively across various African and Middle Eastern countries, including South Africa, Egypt, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and a brief stint in Europe before returning to Johannesburg.

As Vertiv expands its presence in Africa, Piorko emphasised the significance of Duncan’s appointment in driving growth in the region. The company aims to establish dedicated focus, accountability, and responsibility within the African market. Piorko welcomed Duncan to the local Vertiv team and wished him success in his new role.

Effective May 2023, Duncan will assume responsibility for all technical solutions, activities, and sales support for Vertiv Africa. With a growing demand for data centre infrastructure in Africa, driven by businesses transitioning to the cloud, Duncan expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunities ahead. He believes that Vertiv’s position in the market uniquely positions the company to assist local organisations in their digital transformation journey.
