LONDON, (The Southern African Times) – In an unprecedent reaction, Ace Magashule the currently suspended African National Congress (ANC) Secretary General, has suspended the President of the ANC Cyril Ramaphosa.
In a statement issued by Ace Magashule in act of defiance, he claimed his suspension is illegal and unconstitutional. The former premier of Free State, one of South Africas nine provinces, was relieved of his party duties alongside 30 other party members. Ace is charged with fraud and corruption totalling more than £12 million (R250 million). These charges date back to his time as premier.
The Secretary General said his suspension was totally flawed and further more added that he will “summarily suspend the president of the ANC Cyril Ramaphosa, in full compliance with the relevant conference resolutions.”
The ANC has since recently issued a statement stating that “the decisions of the National Executive Commiittee and National Working Committee stand,” in response to Ace Magashuls defiance.
The party is set to meet at the weekend and will respond accordingly to Ace Magashules statement.
