Rémy Martin Bridges Durban and LA Through Music and Culture

Rémy Martin Bridges Durban and LA Through Music and Culture

The House of Rémy Martin has unveiled its exclusive ‘Two Cities. One Spirit.’ VSOP limited edition, a campaign that celebrates the creative connection between Durban and Los Angeles through music, movement and culture. Timed to coincide with World Cognac Day, the initiative highlights how two cities separated by thousands of kilometres can share a common rhythm, using sound as a universal language that transcends borders.

Inspired by the art of blending perfected by Rémy Martin’s Cellar Master, the campaign reflects the harmony and balance found in Rémy Martin VSOP. Just as the cognac brings together carefully selected eaux-de-vie to create a refined expression, ‘Two Cities. One Spirit.’ blends the distinct musical identities of Durban and Los Angeles into a single cultural experience rooted in creativity, collaboration and self-expression.

At the heart of the campaign are two artists whose sounds represent their respective cities. Los Angeles artist Asvnte brings a cinematic interpretation of Hip Hop, blending storytelling, emotional depth and alternative R&B influences to create immersive musical experiences. Durban’s Que DJ represents the unmistakable pulse of Gqom, a genre born in KwaMashu that has grown into one of South Africa’s most influential musical exports. Together, they embody the campaign’s central message that contrast can create harmony, where melody meets rhythm and elegance meets raw energy.

Amaury Vinclet, General Manager of Rémy Martin, said the campaign reflects the values that have defined the House for generations.

“We are proud to launch ‘Two Cities. One Spirit.’, an initiative that perfectly embodies the spirit of Rémy Martin VSOP. This unique collaboration between Durban and Los Angeles, driven by talents like Asvnte and Que DJ, is an ode to creativity and cultural connection, values dear to Rémy Martin and resonating with the balance of our eaux-de-vie.”

The campaign begins in Durban with Rémy Martin Sync The City, an immersive activation that transforms multiple venues into one connected experience. Rather than operating independently, participating venues will come alive simultaneously, creating a continuous flow of music, movement and shared energy across the city. The concept reimagines Durban as one living frequency where audiences experience a unified cultural pulse instead of isolated performances.

Asvnte and Que DJ will guide audiences through this experience, each bringing their signature sound while creating a dialogue between Hip Hop and Gqom. Their collaboration reflects the campaign’s broader vision of celebrating different creative traditions while discovering common ground through music.

Following its launch in Durban, the initiative will continue with the Rémy Martin Cities Tour, extending the collaboration beyond a single destination. Each stop along the tour is designed to build on the previous one, adding new layers of artistic expression and cultural exchange. Rather than presenting separate events, the tour creates an evolving narrative that celebrates movement, connection and the shared influence of music across continents.

The journey will culminate at the prestigious Durban July, where fashion, music and performance will converge in one of South Africa’s most celebrated social and cultural events. Here, the worlds of Durban and Los Angeles will meet on a single stage as Asvnte’s cinematic artistry blends with Que DJ’s powerful rhythms, reflecting the same balance and craftsmanship that define Rémy Martin VSOP.

The launch of the limited edition also reinforces Rémy Martin’s longstanding commitment to celebrating artistry and cultural innovation. Since its founding in 1724, the House has built its reputation on craftsmanship, tradition and the careful blending of Fine Champagne Cognacs that continue to appeal to connoisseurs around the world. Through initiatives such as ‘Two Cities. One Spirit.’, the brand continues to connect heritage with contemporary culture, using music as a platform to inspire collaboration across borders.

The Rémy Martin ‘Two Cities. One Spirit.’ VSOP limited edition is now available at retail outlets across South Africa.
