Mozambique has been announced as the host country for the Africa Diplomatic Tourism and Investment Forum (ADTIF) 2025, a landmark event set to take place from 20 to 22 August at the Joaquim Chissano International Conference Centre in Maputo. This high-profile gathering will bring together over 500 delegates from across Africa and the diaspora, positioning Mozambique as a key player in advancing the continent’s economic diplomacy and tourism sector.
According to Cuthbert Ncube, Chairman of the African Tourism Board, ADTIF 2025 marks a significant milestone in fostering intra-African mobility, boosting tourism investment, and strengthening ties between African nations and the diaspora. He emphasised that the event will not only enhance collaboration between governments and the private sector but also create tangible opportunities for economic integration and growth.
The forum is set against the backdrop of a particularly momentous year for the continent, underscoring the role of the diaspora in Africa’s economic development. Its timing aligns with Mozambique’s 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations, making it a symbolic occasion to reinforce African unity and unlock new economic opportunities.
The event is expected to attract high-profile representatives from Algeria, Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Ethiopia, Morocco, Eswatini, Tanzania, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and PrÃncipe, Cape Verde, and Angola. Their presence will highlight Africa’s diversity and economic potential on the global stage.
Over three days, ADTIF 2025 will serve as a strategic platform for debate, negotiations, and partnership-building, featuring high-level sessions, diplomatic engagements, and business exhibitions. Key topics to be addressed include economic diplomacy, tourism as a driver of foreign relations, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM), and the African Passport as facilitators of trade and tourism. The forum will also explore the impact of digital transformation on investment and tourism, as well as the role of mega-events in attracting global investors.
Mozambique’s hosting of ADTIF 2025 underscores its commitment to fostering regional cooperation, promoting tourism investment, and advancing Africa’s economic agenda. With participation from top government officials, business leaders, and diplomats, the forum is poised to play a crucial role in shaping the future of Africa’s economic diplomacy and integration.
