The Southern African Times Announces Collaboration with the African Caribbean Sustainability & Investment Summit (ACSIS) 202

The Southern African Times is pleased to announce its collaboration with the African Caribbean Sustainability & Investment Summit (ACSIS), a landmark event that is set to take place in London from 21 to 23 November 2024. This prestigious summit, organised by HenleyCaribbean Sustainable Ventures Ltd., will bring together influential business leaders, policymakers, and investors from across the African and Caribbean diaspora to discuss and advance opportunities for sustainable trade and investment.

Supported by the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), the African Union (AU), and various African and Caribbean foreign missions in the UK, ACSIS 2024 aims to foster dialogue and build partnerships that drive mutual economic growth. The theme of the summit, “Leveraging the African, Caribbean and UK Business Opportunities: Investing in a Sustainable Future,” underscores the urgency of addressing global climate challenges while promoting economic collaboration between the regions.

With climate change as an overarching issue, ACSIS will focus on key sectors, including agriculture, ICT and the digital economy, renewable energy, and tourism. These sectors are critical to both regions, and the summit provides an essential platform for stakeholders to engage in dialogue, share knowledge, and explore business synergies that promote sustainable development.

Strengthening Ties for Sustainable Growth

The African and Caribbean business diaspora in the United Kingdom is increasingly recognised as a vital contributor to the economic growth of their respective home regions. The summit seeks to build on this momentum by encouraging investments that support both sustainability and economic advancement. The focus on fostering connections between diaspora communities, UK businesses, and international organisations is particularly timely, given the increasing interdependence of global economies in tackling the climate crisis and driving the green transition.

The collaboration between The Southern African Times and ACSIS highlights the shared mission of promoting sustainability, investment, and economic development. This partnership will not only enhance the visibility of the summit but also broaden its reach among influential audiences, including policymakers, corporate leaders, and development institutions across the African continent and beyond.

A Platform for Dialogue and Action

The three-day event will feature high-level discussions and networking opportunities aimed at creating actionable strategies to strengthen trade and investment across Africa, the Caribbean, and the UK. Day 1, to be hosted at the House of Lords in Westminster, will focus on Government-to-Business (G2B) and Business-to-Business (B2B) engagements, bringing together senior representatives from the UK, African, and Caribbean governments, along with leading figures from the diaspora business community.

Day 2, to be held at Lloyd’s of London, will feature keynote addresses on sustainable finance, climate action, and sector-specific panel discussions across agriculture, tourism, digital security, and renewable energy. These discussions are designed to foster collaboration among industry leaders and create new avenues for investment and innovation.

Day 3 will showcase investment opportunities through a pitching session—dubbed “Pitch It to Clinch It”—and culminate with a business awards ceremony, celebrating excellence in sustainability and investment.

A Strategic Opportunity for Policymakers and Investors

ACSIS 2024 provides a unique opportunity for policymakers, businesses, and investors to engage with key stakeholders in shaping the future of sustainable economic development. With its focus on climate action, innovation, and investment, the summit is positioned to serve as a catalyst for real change across Africa, the Caribbean, and the UK.

The Southern African Times, as a key media partner, will offer exclusive coverage and insights from the summit, ensuring that the vital conversations and outcomes from the event are shared with its international readership of decision-makers, policy advisors, and investors.
