The Kenya Business Alliance (KBA) and the British African Business Alliance (BABA) have announced a pioneering partnership that promises to reshape the way Kenyan and African businesses engage with global markets. The announcement was made by the UK Deputy High Commissioner, H.E. Dr. Joseph Warui, in a statement to The Kenyan Diaspora Media on Tuesday, August 13.
H.E. Dr. Warui outlined that the collaboration between KBA and BABA is intended to foster a new era of economic cooperation and innovation. The initiative aims to seamlessly integrate Africa’s dynamic economies with the United Kingdom’s extensive investment opportunities.
“The goal is to unite diaspora businesses under a single platform, thereby promoting economic growth and collaboration,” said H.E. Dr. Warui. He emphasised that this partnership would act as a catalyst for Pan-Africanism, providing Kenyans and the Kenyan government with valuable resources including information dissemination, networking opportunities, and access to the sale of government bonds.
The partnership seeks to leverage the network of 37,000 identified business professionals in the UK with connections to Kenya and a diaspora community of over 500,000 members. By harnessing this collective strength, KBA aims to benefit the entire African continent, facilitating access to the UK market and broader African opportunities for Kenyan SMEs and larger enterprises.
“This initiative is designed to bridge the gap between Kenyan businesses and the global market, ensuring that Kenyan products and services gain a wider audience,” H.E. Dr. Warui noted.
Furthermore, KBA is set to become the Kenya Business Directory, addressing key business challenges and creating new opportunities through its expanded network. This strategic move is not merely a business venture but a forward-thinking approach to enhancing Pan-African unity and economic integration.
