Israeli Military Operations Reported in Iran: Middle East Braces for Escalation

US officials have confirmed Israeli airstrikes targeting Iran, with explosions reported over Isfahan and Tabriz. While Washington acknowledged Israeli military operations against Iran, the scale remains undisclosed.

Iranian state media downplayed the attacks, citing calm morning scenes in Isfahan and reporting drone interceptions. Israel’s N12 news reported strikes in Iraq and Syria, with explosions witnessed in both countries.

Internal Iranian flights were canceled, and passengers evacuated Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Airport amid reported detonations over Tabriz.

Iranian officials reassured citizens of minimal threat, suggesting the use of mini-drones in the incursions. Siavosh Mihandoust, an Iranian army commander, reported no damage in Isfahan.

The Biden administration received advance notice from Israel through a US-Israeli Strategic Consultative Group, assuring non-targeting of Iran’s nuclear facilities. This retaliation follows Iran’s aerial attack involving 300 missiles and drones, triggered by the bombing of an Iranian consular building in Damascus.

The US aims to contain the Gaza conflict, refusing involvement in military counter-strikes. Iran warns of decisive responses to further Israeli aggression, emphasizing readiness for maximum-level retaliation.
