Mimicking beats and instruments using nothing but his lips, tongue, and voice might seem unconventional, but ProBeatz has honed this extraordinary skill to perfection, elevating himself into the realm of premium entertainment. While not necessarily occupying the top tier of the local entertainment hierarchy, his popularity remains undeniable, as he consistently dazzles audiences with his rare talents, stealing the spotlight whenever he graces the stage.
In an exclusive interview with The Southern African Times, Mashonganyika shed light on his latest magnum opus, “Hakata.” The album, he revealed, is a profound testament to emotional expression, drawing inspiration from personal experiences as well as universal feelings of love, heartbreak, laughter, anger, joy, and hope. Born in Harare in 1995, ProBeatz’s creative reservoir draws inspiration from various sources – diverse environments, ordinary lives, nostalgic memories, and the human experience at large. His journey into the world of artistry began as a dancer, heavily influenced by the legendary Michael Jackson. Early exposure to traditional dance and African drumming further fueled his passion. The allure of beatboxing and beat production eventually led him to collaborate with Mclynebeats, the mastermind behind his breakout hit “Banga,” which boasts over a million views on YouTube. Mclynebeats also played a pivotal role in the production of a track featured on the “Hakata” album.
Beyond his music, ProBeatz harbors a long-term aspiration to cultivate positivity, raise awareness, inspire peace, and foster love – the cornerstone of happiness.
