Zimbabwe’s ProBeatz Drops “Hakata,” an Album of Unfiltered Emotions and Sonic Innovation

Renowned Zimbabwean multi-talent, Takudzwa Denzel Bardwell Mashonganyika, professionally known as ProBeatz, has unveiled his latest masterpiece, “Hakata,” to the delight of his devoted fan base. The prolific rapper, producer, actor, and dancer recently took to Instagram to announce the album’s release on all major music streaming platforms. A true luminary in the Zimbabwean music scene, ProBeatz has consistently illuminated the entertainment landscape with his multifaceted abilities.

Mimicking beats and instruments using nothing but his lips, tongue, and voice might seem unconventional, but ProBeatz has honed this extraordinary skill to perfection, elevating himself into the realm of premium entertainment. While not necessarily occupying the top tier of the local entertainment hierarchy, his popularity remains undeniable, as he consistently dazzles audiences with his rare talents, stealing the spotlight whenever he graces the stage.

In an exclusive interview with The Southern African Times, Mashonganyika shed light on his latest magnum opus, “Hakata.” The album, he revealed, is a profound testament to emotional expression, drawing inspiration from personal experiences as well as universal feelings of love, heartbreak, laughter, anger, joy, and hope. With its powerful and spiritual essence, “Hakata” showcases Mashonganyika’s creative agility, offering a diverse sonic landscape that resonates across demographics.

Born in Harare in 1995, ProBeatz’s creative reservoir draws inspiration from various sources – diverse environments, ordinary lives, nostalgic memories, and the human experience at large. His journey into the world of artistry began as a dancer, heavily influenced by the legendary Michael Jackson. Early exposure to traditional dance and African drumming further fueled his passion. The allure of beatboxing and beat production eventually led him to collaborate with Mclynebeats, the mastermind behind his breakout hit “Banga,” which boasts over a million views on YouTube. Mclynebeats also played a pivotal role in the production of a track featured on the “Hakata” album.

Beyond his music, ProBeatz harbors a long-term aspiration to cultivate positivity, raise awareness, inspire peace, and foster love – the cornerstone of happiness. Be it a solo act or a collaborative performance, ProBeatz’s innate ability to captivate audiences has earned him widespread acclaim. His artistry transcends geographical borders, as evidenced by his extraordinary achievement of securing eight gold medals at the 2017 World Championship of Performing Arts in California. Subsequent ventures have seen him tour South Africa and England, and release two prior albums, “Twenty Five” in 2020 and “Before I Go Underground” in 2021, alongside several singles – including a notable collaboration with Jah Prayzah earlier this year, just prior to the release of “Hakata.”

While expressing heartfelt gratitude to his dedicated fans who have fueled his remarkable journey, ProBeatz candidly discussed the challenge of constant comparisons to fellow artists. He appeals to listeners to embrace “Hakata” on its own merits, free from the constraints of comparison.

As “Hakata” continues to make waves in the music world, ProBeatz’s unique blend of talents continues to shine as a beacon of inspiration, carving an indelible mark on the Southern African entertainment landscape.
