Trade volume between Algeria and Turkey has reached 6.3 billion U.S. dollars in 2023, according to Algeria’s Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni. The announcement was made during the Algerian-Turkish Business Forum, held in Algiers and co-chaired by Zitouni and his Turkish counterpart, Omer Bolat.
During the forum, Minister Zitouni called for the broadening of bilateral collaboration in several sectors, including agricultural and food products, mechanical and household appliances, plastics and packaging industries, as well as the tourism and services sector. He expressed hope that the trade volume could increase to 10 billion dollars by 2025.
Turkish Minister Omer Bolat echoed Zitouni’s sentiments, urging for the expansion of cooperation between the two nations. Bolat highlighted that Algeria is Turkey’s second-largest partner in Africa and a major recipient of Turkish investments.
The forum underscored the strong economic ties between Algeria and Turkey and the potential for further growth in their trade relationship.
