Amapiano artiste Zee Nxumalo Poised for a Spectacular 2025

Amapiano sensation Zee Nxumalo’s 2024 has been nothing short of remarkable. Renowned for her unshakable confidence, boundary-pushing artistry, and an ever-expanding list of accolades, Zee Nxumalo has firmly established herself as a powerhouse in South African music. More than that, she has laid the groundwork for global ambitions, proving herself not merely a participant but a trailblazer in the industry.

The release of her eagerly awaited EP, Inja Ye Game, marked a transformative chapter in her career. The 10-track project showcases her unique fusion of amapiano, Afro-pop, and gqom, embodying her versatility and fearless creativity. From the emotionally rich storytelling of Ucingo to the electrifying Drip Juluka, featuring DJ Tira and a star-studded lineup, the EP underscores her dynamic artistry and cements her reputation as a genre-defying force.

Zee’s influence in 2024, however, extended well beyond her music. She became a household name in the world of brand partnerships, most notably as a newly minted Brand Ambassador for Puma, alongside fellow amapiano luminary Young Stunna. This collaboration places her at the forefront of the brand’s South African initiatives for 2025. Additionally, her partnership with McDonald’s showcased her creative flair as she produced an exclusive amapiano track and a viral dance video to mark the South African launch of the Grimace Shake. These ventures exemplified her ability to merge her artistic vision with global brands, further affirming her role as a cultural tastemaker.

Her versatility shone in new domains as well. Zee Nxumalo became the youngest panellist ever to grace the Roast of Pearl Thusi, where her wit and charisma lit up one of South Africa’s most iconic entertainment platforms. On the international stage, she was handpicked to reimagine the SpongeBob SquarePants theme song with an amapiano twist, performing it live at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards—a moment that reinforced her universal appeal.

Zee’s growing global presence was further solidified during her inaugural European tour, where she performed in multiple cities across England, Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands. Her electrifying shows introduced her distinctive sound to new audiences, bolstering her reputation as a South African artist with world-class potential.

Capping off her exceptional year, Zee Nxumalo was named Apple Music’s Up Next artist and earned a nomination for the prestigious “People’s Choice Award” at the GQ Men of the Year Awards 2024, where she stood out as the sole female contender. These accolades reflect her undeniable impact and hint at even greater achievements to come.

With such a stellar year behind her, Zee Nxumalo has proven that she is more than a rising star—she is a transformative force, reshaping the future of South African music and culture. If 2024 set the standard, 2025 promises to be nothing less than extraordinary.
