Sierra Leone, a nation with a rich history of resilience and progress, has achieved a remarkable milestone on the global stage. In an extraordinary display of support, the country has been elected as a Non-Permanent Member of the United Nations Security Council for the term 2024-2025. This victory not only reflects Sierra Leone’s remarkable progress but also exemplifies Africa’s collective success and its crucial role in shaping the international arena.

Sierra Leone’s return to the United Nations Security Council symbolises the country’s emergence as a democratic and peaceful nation, having triumphed over the scars of a devastating civil war. Throughout its journey, Sierra Leone has worked in close collaboration with the United Nations, successfully transitioning from conflict to peace. Today, the country stands as a beacon of hope, characterized by resilience, fortitude, and an unwavering belief in a brighter future.
