Ethiopian Airlines Expands Manchester Schedule with Fifth Weekly Flight

Ethiopian Airlines, a member of the Star Alliance, has announced the introduction of an additional weekly flight to Manchester, commencing on Monday, 5th June. This new flight will further strengthen the airline’s presence in Manchester, bringing the total number of weekly flights to five, all operated by the state-of-the-art A350 Airbus. The new route will operate via Geneva, offering passengers enhanced connectivity options.

With the addition of this fifth weekly flight, Ethiopian Airlines aims to meet the growing demand for travel between Northern UK and sub-Saharan Africa. The airline has observed a significant increase in passenger traffic from this region, prompting the expansion of its Manchester operations. The decision to introduce this flight comes during the airline’s 50th Anniversary year of serving the UK market, making it even more significant for both the airline and its passengers.

Henock Woubishet, the Area Manager for UK & Ireland at Ethiopian Airlines, expressed his enthusiasm for the increased Manchester departures, stating, “This is good news for our Manchester departures, as we have seen growth from Northern UK to sub-Saharan Africa. The new additional Monday flight will provide more weekly capacity during our 50th Anniversary year of flying to the UK for our passengers.”

The Traffic & Sales Manager for Ethiopian Airlines in Manchester, Timothy Bettney, also welcomed the expansion, highlighting the popularity of the Manchester flights among customers in the region. He noted that the flights to Geneva, operated as full-service non-stop journeys, have been particularly in demand among both corporate and leisure travelers.

Passengers traveling from Manchester will now have more options to reach Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia, as Ethiopian Airlines already operates daily non-stop A350 Airbus flights from London Heathrow Airport to Addis Ababa. These flights have been serving over 10,000 passengers on a monthly basis, providing seamless connections to more than 60 African destinations across East, South, Central, and West Africa.

The introduction of the fifth weekly flight to Manchester not only expands the reach of Ethiopian Airlines but also solidifies its commitment to providing convenient and efficient connections for travelers. The A350 Airbus, known for its exceptional comfort and advanced features, ensures that passengers enjoy a superior travel experience throughout their journey.

Ethiopian Airlines’ continuous expansion in the UK market reflects its strong dedication to meeting the evolving needs of passengers, as well as its confidence in the potential for growth in air travel between the UK and Africa. By offering increased capacity and frequency, the airline aims to facilitate greater business and tourism ties between the two regions.

Passengers flying with Ethiopian Airlines can expect the renowned African hospitality and exceptional service for which the airline is widely recognized. As a Star Alliance member, Ethiopian Airlines provides seamless connectivity options, enabling travelers to explore the vast and diverse continent of Africa with ease.

With the launch of the additional weekly flight between Manchester and Addis Ababa, Ethiopian Airlines once again demonstrates its commitment to expanding its global network and enhancing the travel experience for passengers. Whether traveling for business or leisure, passengers can now enjoy greater flexibility and connectivity when embarking on their journeys to and from Manchester.
