PSG refuse ‘£160m offer’ from Real Madrid for Kylian Mbappe.

PSG refuse ‘£160m offer’ from Real Madrid for Kylian Mbappe.

It has been a dramatic transfer window so far with some of the biggest names in football in the move, as Lionel Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer from Barcelona.

Kylian Mbappe could be next with Real Madrid reportedly trying to sign the superstar from the French club.

Mbappe has been linked with a move away from PSG for a number of years, with Real Madrid and Liverpool among the clubs rumoured to be interested in the player. The Spanish giants are set to win the race for the 22-year-old as reports emerged on Tuesday that the club have made an initial £160m bid to sign him this summer.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Confirmed. Real Madrid have made a formal bid for €160m to sign Kylian Mbappé immediatly. NO green light from Paris Saint-Germain yet.

“Mbappé has turned down more than three different proposals from PSG to extend the contract. He’s waiting too.”

The Independent’s chief football writer Miguel Delaney later shared that the French club have rejected an approach from Real Madrid as they look to keep a hold of their star player.

Delaney tweeted: “PSG have refused an initial offer for Kylian Mbappe from Real Madrid – but Florentino Perez certainly wants it out there that he’s trying.

“Some suggestions from Spain that this is also to show Mbappe how much they want him – that they’re willing to bid when he only has a year left on his contract.”

Reports this week also claim ‘an unnamed Premier League club’ had an offer for the 22-year-old turned down by PSG.

Speaking to Sky Sports News on Tuesday, Spanish football expert Alvaro Montero said: “I’m not sure what they believe in England and in the Premier League, but as far as I know, inside Real Madrid they believe that this club is Liverpool.

“Although Liverpool is an amazing club and the Premier League is incredible, inside Madrid they remember two things.

“First, they’ve got an agreement between the club and the player and they say it is not an economical issue but a sentimental one.

“They believe Mbappe, once he’s asked about his future, his response is always the same.

“He answers, I want to play in Real Madrid because I’m a fan since I was little.”
